She graduated from Clarion State College, now Clarion University,with two college degrees (a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education), and earned an ESL Specialist Certification from Millersville University. She has been teaching children since 1975 - in York City Schools since 1983. Her favorite color is red. Her favorite things to do include spending time with her family and pets, composing and performing music, gardening, and reading.
